It’s Kgomotso Mokoena from Sunday World newspaper and I am working on an article regarding FTF campaign and trip to Bloemfontein last week.
It has come to our attention that FTF, in their campaign for the for the SAFA presidential elections, have roped in Sports Fusion Technologies (SFT) as a funder for the campaign.
NEC members who attended are also complaining about the imminent cancellation of the MySAFA contract and that SFT being lined-up to replace MySAFA even though their contract ends in 2029? Can you kindly comment?
Answer – Tankiso Modipa :- My Good Sir, MYSAFA is official SAFA Registration System – while Sports Fusion Technology is a Regional Registration Service Provider, they have a standing contract with SAFA Overberg, so it will be practically impossible that a lobby group for the elections of SAFA since 2009 can take such a position to terminate or even push for the service provider to replace MySAFA, SAFA it has it’s statutes, regulations and policies, FTF it is just a lobby group so it is highly impossible that they can do such thing.
2. Kgomotso Mokoena:- We are also informed that the SFT boss Arthur Calamaras funded and attended the trip to Bloemfontein last week and handed out SFT branded T-shirts and caps to delegates.
Answer – Tankiso Modipa : – As i indicated in my answer here-above, The Sports Fusion Technology is the service provider for SAFA Overberg Regional Registration System with a valid contract, part of the contract is to assist our partners, our courses, tournaments and many other activities related to football in our region and beyond, due to the fact that FTF is a lobby group our region is associated with, after my appointment as a national convenor for FTF I personally approached Sports Fusion Technology to assist with the T-shirts and Caps so that our FTF members should look presentable and uniformed, i dealt with the company not with any individual from their team because we can’t pick one out of the entire board members of Sports Fusion Technology that was presented to us when we signed the agreement 2 years ago.
3. Kgomotso Mokoena:- Is it not of concern that the SFT is associated with the porn industry via the owner Arthur Calamaras who is the owner of Adult World and other pornographic companies?
Answer – Tankiso Modipa :- I am not aware that is the case, we approached different service providers to sign with them the agreement specifically Registration System Companies on my portfolio of being SAFA Overberg Regional President, the due diligence was done, with our attorneys involved, the information that Sports Fusion Technology is associated with porn and sex companies is new to me, there is no link between them and any other companies as far as we know, and did a research before we signed with them.

5. Kgomotso Mokoena:-Football is associated with teenagers and young girls whom it would be a travesty if such a company comes on board?
Answer – Tankiso Modipa :- without repetition from my previous answer’s, Sports Fusion Technology is SAFA Overberg Regional Registration System not anything else than that.
